In particular, the outstanding cold water system devices are used in numerous applications.

Cold water systems

Cold water systems – also called chillers – usually use water as the heat transfer medium, which is mixed with an antifreeze. They are used for cooling in containers and vehicles with high heat load and of course for the air conditioning of racks and machines. Chillers can also be used as a heat pump and used for heating.

Special systems can also be operated in “free cooling” mode during the cold season. From 2° C outside temperature, these chillers use the ambient air for cooling. Energy consumption drops abruptly, in some situations by up to 75 percent. This saves operating costs and increases the service life of the devices.
