The transportation of personnel continually presents the German Defence Forces with major challenges in crisis regions, as conventional coaches or soft-skin trucks do not offer any protection against attacks involving mines or firearms. Multifunctional containers for protected personnel transport (MuConPers) developed by EADS in cooperation with KMW (Krauss Maffei Wegmann) and on behalf of the Federal Office of Defence Technology and Procurement (Bundesamt für Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung – BWB) provide assistance here.
